From Your Counseling Team - Grade 10 Parents: College Matters and Pathways

College Visit This Week
  • Tuesday, January 23, 2018 - Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Ag will be in the breezeway during lunch. Please stop by!
Happy new year to you all! Thanks again to those parents who were able to attend our past grade 10 presentations, College Matters in September and Pathways, part 1, in November. We wanted to now remind you of our next important presentation; Pathways, part 2. This presentation will be on Wednesday, January 24 at 10:25 a.m. in the performing arts center.

On Wednesday, January 24, we will wrap up our series with important information for all grade 10 students and parents. Specifically during the presentation, you will:
  • Learn about the courses (including many new ones) that ISP offers, as well as distinctions between them so that students may make wise choices about their academic program ahead.
  • Consider course combinations that align with students' strengths, interests, passions, and aspirations for study at university.
  • Hear perspectives on the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Certificate Program (IEC) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) from current grade 11 and grade 12 students.
  • Receive information about the course registration process.
Immediately following the presentation, we are excited to host a marketplace from 12:00 noon to 12:45 p.m. so that students and parents can speak with ISP faculty about the subjects they teach and get their questions answered.

Important Note about Transportation

Given that this will be on a Wednesday, there will be no after-school transportation for students. Parents who plan to attend the marketplace should bring home their HS/MS/ES children or make other arrangements. Students who plan to attend the marketplace, without their parent present, will need to arrange their own transportation home. Otherwise, students will need to take the normal bus home after the presentation portion is completed.

Lastly, for those who were unable to attend the first two presentations, we are providing them below for your review.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!
