About CASThe IB Diploma and Certificate years at ISP include some challenging and exciting times for an individual to develop and grow academically and experientially. It is up to the student to develop and put together a challenging and interesting program which is acceptable to ISP and the IB program. CAS is short for Creativity, Action and Service and it is a program of learning known as Experiential Education. With CAS, students try out some of what they have learned in the classroom and expand on it or even find out about something new altogether. CAS implies a learning about the world, society and one's self. Creativity is where students get to use their imagination to solve problems or design solutions and to express one's self through performance and the arts. Action has to do with physical activity, sports and work that requires a physical exertion. Service can mean involvement and leadership in the community service projects taking place around ISP or of a student's own making. This is a separate part of IB CAS, which allows students to host their own activities. Service projects are beneficial to other people or the environment and to one's self. |
