IB Psychology
Course Description
Grade(s): 11&12 Level: IB SL & HL Credit(s): 2 in Social Studies
Prerequisite(s): Algebra II/Trigonometry, General Biology
This is a two-year course which meets the requirements for Standard and higher level IB Psychology.
Students
will evaluate and critique psychological research in this course. They will
learn research design, research methods, major psychological approaches, and
explore ethical issues related to psychological research and
application. Students will undertake one major research project per year. The
most salient goal of this course is to foster knowledge and awareness of, and
respect for, the psychological diversity of human beings with reference to
biological, psycho-dynamic, behavioral, humanistic, and cognitive influence on
behavior.
