IB World Politics and international relations

Course Description

Prerequisite (s): None

The goal of World Politics and International Relations is to provide students with a framework for understanding the perspectives, behavior, and decision-making processes of state governments, international organizations, national and  sub-national  groups. 

 Throughout  the  course,  students  will  examine  both  the  ideological  and  philosophical underpinnings  of modern  political  science  and  also  conduct  case  studies  on  the  important  political,  economic, environmental  and  humanitarian  issues  confronting  the  global  community  at  the  dawn  of  the  21st  century.  

Requirements for the course will include an internal assessment portfolio of four commentaries written over the two-year course, and a cumulative IB exam.
