Middle School Presents Solutions to Global Issues

On Wednesday, the Middle School celebrated International Day with a day focused on presenting solutions to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Last week, our students launched the Global Goals Project that challenged students to come up with creative solutions to three of the most pressing issues facing our globe. Over the course of the week, students worked in their advisory to come up with creative solutions that we can implement in our community to start to address these global issues.

Our Middle School students kicked off the event by listening to three presentations from local non-profit organizations who are actively working to address challenges in Panama. Students had the opportunity to hear from Footprint, Inc., Leafsinc, and Marea Verde, and left the PAC inspired and determined to make a difference in their world.

Following the inspiring presentations, students worked in their advisory for an hour to finalize their proposal and prepare for their presentations. Students then presented to their grade level, and the top two ideas from each grade level were selected for a final presentation in front of the entire Middle School in the PAC. Prior to the final presentations, our students had the opportunity to enjoy various foods from all over the world. A special thank you to the PTA for organizing such amazing and delicious treats!

Over the next few weeks, some of our finalists will have the opportunity to meet with various members of the ISP community to see how we can get these ideas up and running!
