Dear families of ISP,
We made it through another school year!!!!
Each year when June arrives we find ourselves experiencing many emotions, and this year is no different. The emotions of this year have been amplified by how we spent the last 3 months--apart yet together, separate while united in our goals, dolphins in a pod that is spread out throughout the world.
I want to thank you for what you did for your children and for ISP; you were the pillar of strength and a partner in learning with us. We know that this has not been easy for you, but we are thankful that we have been together in this, with you.
As a school composed of an international population,at this time each year we say farewell to numerous students and staff who are departing for other locales. Student information was shared in our year end assembly. Please find below our staff who are leaving ISP this year:
- Claire Greenland, Grade 1
- Eduardo Bello, Grade 4
- Emma Armishaw, Grade 5
- Laina Kurth, Grade 2
- Louise Lee, Grade 5
- Tracy Douglas, Math
Additionally, this year we are saying farewell to one of our esteemed assistant principals, Chris Horton. We thank Chris for the stewardship he provided to our Student Representative Council and to the children he worked with across the school. He has recorded a farewell message to share with you. We wish Chris and the teachers well as they continue on their own learning journeys.
Lastly, Riley, Rhett, and I are leaving ISP, heading to Lincoln in Argentina. We are forever grateful for the home we have had here, and the support we have had from you; our ISP family. We know that we will always be ISP Dolphins and ask that you look us up if you ever find yourselves in Buenos Aires.
The elementary has appointed a new elementary principal, Joyce Mininger, who is excited to be joining this beautiful community. Please see my farewell here, and see Joyce’s introduction to you here. I ask that you open your arms and embrace her in the same way you did me, six years ago.
Our Specials team has also composed a video to say goodbye to students. You may have seen it posted this week, and you can also view it here.
Lastly, if you’ve been as inspired by your children’s learning as I have been, please check out our ISP Site for Online Learning. You can find instructions for archiving your child’s work in SeeSaw to save for later (aqui en espanol!), and resources for learning that will be open to you during our entire vacation.
ISP is a beautiful place, and I thank you for what you do to add to that. I wish you well during your vacation, even if it is not the type of break any of us would desire to have. Stay healthy, be well, and enjoy this time with your beautiful children.
I wish you well,
