CEPMOAS Debate awards

On Thursday and Friday, 10 students, under the guidance and supervision of History teacher and Debate Club Advisor, Mr. Negrete, attended the Model Organization of American States conference hosted by Colegio Episcopal. ISP has had a long history of attending and doing well at this conference. This year,  students represented Guatemala in several committees of the OAS, as well as playing the role of advocates and defense in the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. Students debated topics like Crytpocurrency,  Organized Crime in the Americas, LGBTQ discrimination in Panama, and acted as Cabinet members in the Reagan White House during the Iran-Contra Crisis, Grade 10 students Isabel Bedoya & Lucas Falla both won Outstanding Delegate in their committees and Debate Club captain and 11th Grader Markus Kempin won Best Delegate in his committee.
