Alex Sheen shared an inspirational message with students from middle and high school this week. Alex is the founder of the non-profit Because I Said I would, whose mission is to: "change the world through promises made and kept." For more information about the organization please visit their website.
Students were inspired by the relatable, compelling presentation. 6th grade student Constantin V. reflected that "it was important to see how much he cared about other people and how much you can do to help strangers without getting a prize or money for yourself."
Alex distributes "promise cards" to people around the world. More than 9 million cards have been delivered. Each card represents one promise.
For fellow 6th grade student Isabella M. one particular promise resonated with her: "he wanted to do this whole project in order to honor his dad who had died of cancer. This helped him remember a dad who kept his promises, and people in the world not can be encouraged to keep their promises. By doing this we can change the world."
ISP is proud to be adding to the 9 million promises that have been made and kept. We look forward to reporting back with the impacts that this initiative will make at our school.
We would like to thank P&G for helping us bring this special speaker to our school.
