Over 350 student athletes from 12 schools across Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica and Panama competed in the annual AASCA Track and Field meet from November 28 - December 2.
ISP were the only participating school from Panama and entered teams in all four categories (U19 boys, U19 girls, U14 girls and U14 boys). The track program at ISP has always had a particular focus on long distance running and this was evident in the outstanding Cross Country individual and relay team performances.
Our sprinting, throwing and jumping events are starting to develop and this is an opportunity for continued work in the future. Congratulations to the many students who broke personal best times and picked up team points and medals. MVPs from ISP were Yena (U19 girls), Benjamin (U19 boys), Ana Paula (U14 girls) and Sam (U14 boys).
Our community can be particularly proud of the Sportsmanship trophy won by the U14 boys group. This competitive team of 7 students competed with humility in times of victory and were gracious in defeat. Thank you to coaches Laura, Egris and Javier for all of the hard work and leadership throughout the season.
