Innovation & Entrepreneurship Certificate Program

The IEC is a two-year student-centered certificate program focused on building design thinking skills for students in grades 11 and 12.

Year 1 of the program consists of two semesters centered on building design thinking skills and analyzing innovative business practices.

What is design thinking?

Design Thinking is an iterative process in which we seek to understand the user...and redefine problems in an attempt to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with our initial level of understanding. At the same time, Design Thinking provides a solution-based approach to solving problems. It is a way of thinking and working as well as a collection of hands-on methods.

Year 2 of the program culminates in a year-long student lead project such as building an innovative physical technology or creating a socially responsible business.

All projects must fulfill the following criteria:

Contribute to the Social Good

Create a product or service

Solve a problem
