Artistic Gymnastics

Description:
Students will learn how to execute some acrobatics movements as rolls, twists, handspring or somersaults. All the students start at level 1 and they have to demonstrate their skill to progress to the next level.

Arts & Crafts

Description:
Each week students will use a range of techniques, tools, and materials to create memorable designs. Also students will learn to manage time, use materials appropriately, plan the steps to follow, create, and achieve the culmination of different art projects and most importantly, your child will be able to share and get together with students from different grades and have lots of fun.

Bike - Learn to ride

Grades: K- 2nd

The goal at this level is to achieve controlled handling without training wheels.
The student  can start, pedal constantly and make a safe braking.

Bike - New Skills

Grades: 3rd- 5th

Requirement
- Know how to ride bike without auxiliary wheels. 

Description:
At this level, the student has a basic understanding of pedaling. He manages to remain stable on the bicycle and pedal accurately, however, he does not have the necessary driving techniques, so his techniques are initially reinforced with a continuous evaluation of aspects such as: pedaling, orientation in space, coordination of the handlebars, position of the body on the bicycle, use of brakes and changes, taking curves and ramps.

Cheerleading
Grades: 1st - 9th
Days: Mondays & Wednesdays

Description:
Students will be trained on stunting, basket tosses, pyramid, tumbling, jumps, flexibility techniques and dance. By the end of the semester we plan to Cheer on campus athletics games using all the skills learned during the first weeks.

College Cooking 101

Grades: 9th - 12th
Days: Wednesdays

Description:
This is an after-school activity that centers around learning culinary arts. Classes build upon each other to teach students kitchen safety, kitchen skills, culinary techniques, food experimentation, and kitchen science while tasting a wide variety of foods along the way. 
 
Students will pride themselves in creating meals for others, use their own creativity to put a twist on a familiar recipe, and learn new techniques and skills working with familiar foods. They will also develop leadership skills and confidence in their own capabilities which they can take outside the kitchen into any endeavour they decide to tackle.
 
Every week we will have a different theme or regional cuisine that they can experience.

Esports

eSports is the world of competitive, organized video gaming. Esports is moving into education, it could be a portal to a scholarship at an international university or a career in a billion-dollar industry? Join us as we develop the school esports team and achieve Esports glory!!!

 

Game that we will participate in: 

 
  1. League of Legends is a Multiplayer Online Battle. Each player assumes the role of a specific Champion or hero with specific strengths and weaknesses. The goal is to compete against an enemy team in a 5v5 battle and ultimately destroy the other team’s Nexus or home base.

Jr Master Chef

Fitness, discipline, patience, strategy, coordination, confidence, logic, protection, balance, understanding self-defence, safe distancing, strenght, eth. All these above mentioned traits will be measure and improved as the student progresses in training. This after school activity will guide the student to a higher degree of self-esteem and balanced judgement and help them to become better and more affective leaders.

Lego & OSMO
Grades: K - 2nd

Description: 
We use Mr. Learnie to teach children the basics of shapes, colors and how Lego building blocks fit together to form many different shapes. With Lego Early Simple Machines students fit together simple gears and levels with Lego to build mini-machines that have a function and perform some type of work. Students work in small groups and learn more about Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving. We combine the power of iPads with OSMO to use tangible pieces to create a unique, hands-on learning experience. Osmo merges tactile exploration with innovative technology, actively engaging children in the learning process.

Lego Robotics
Grades: 2nd-5th

Description: 
Come to the ES STEM Lab and explore Robotics and Coding with Lego WeDo 2.0, Lego Spike Prime, and Dash & Dot. Students use Lego in a collaborative way to solve math problems, through themes appropriate for each grade level.

Operation Code & Lego Boost
Grades: 3rd - 5th

Description: 
Come to the ES Mac Lab and explore a variety of different ways of capturing students' interest in beginner level for programming / coding. Students will work with CODE.ORG to start their coding experience. We will also look at the basics of coding with Lego Boost Robots.

Parkour

Description: 
During this fun ASA students will be exposed to Parkour in a very exciting and safe environment. Parkour has its roots in military obstacle course training and martial arts and includes running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, rolling and more. We will be traveling around the whole campus to find and use the coolest parkour areas available. Please make sure your child brings a snack, water bottle and a lot of energy as they will need it for this ASA.

Roller Skating

Grades: K-5

Description: 
Have fun while you train your body and mind!. Some benefits of roller skating for kids are: 
  • It is great cardio exercise: roller skating is good for your heart. It will also strengthen your muscles, and help you burn extra calories. It even improves flexibility, balance, coordination, agility and endurance.
  • It teaches new skills: roller-skating helps you master new skills and push yourself to new speeds, helping you to build self-confidence and overcome obstacles.
  • It is good stress-relief: studies show that skating is a great way to relieve stress, focus your mind, learn more effectively, and even improve your mood.
  • It is a fun social activity: you can practice with friends both indoors and outdoors on any smooth surface.
 All you need is a pair of quad roller skates and basic protective gear.

Trampoline

Grades: K-5

Description: 
Students will learn basic bouncinc skill such as, straddle jumps, seat drops, front drops and back drops. Once the students is able to demonstrate control, they will progress to more advanced skills.

VEX Robotics

Grades: 6-8
Days: Mondays

Description:
The Vex IQ program requires teams to build and program a robot to complete a task revealed each year. Teams consist of 3-5 members. A VEX IQ Robotics set uses plastic pieces that snap together using pegs, and it is extremely easy to construct a robot. The students use a graphical software to program the robot. There are two parts to the contests: Robot Skills, which is a single robot trying to score as many points as possible, and the Teamwork Challenge, where two robots attempt to work together to complete the same task.
