At this level, the focus will be on development only. The goal is that students come away with love of the sport and master the basic skills of tennis. Also featuring the "Quick Start" Tennis play format, which is designed and structured for kids to learn, rally and play quickly in a way that is both enjoyable and rewarding. The goal at this level is to encourage students to have success and enjoy playing the game the right way, while also developing a passion for lifetime participation in tennis.
This is a non-competitive group for students interested in competing in formal tennis competitions in the future. Coaches will recommend that students register with the Panamanian Tennis Federation when they are ready to compete in those meets. Varsity tennis is highly competitive and focuses on applying technical, tactical, physical and psychological principles while maintaining a positive sportsmanship at all times. Student-athletes are encouraged to compete in local Panamanian Federation competitions as well as in inter school friendly competitions within Panama. A number of students may be selected to travel to AASCA Tennis to be played in San Jose, Costa Rica from March 4-8, 2020. There will be 12 players selected as part of the A team and 15 players selected for the B team.
