Field Trip Reminders!

On Monday our first group of MS students will leave for an amazing 3 day, 2 night trip into the Mamoni Valley with Geoversity. Over the next 3 weeks all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will be heading out on various trips overnight or full day. If you missed any of the information regarding these trips please review the documents below.

Parent Information Documents:

If you believe that you signed your child up for a particular trip, but do not see their name, please email us at kmartin@isp.edu.pa or kpettinga@isp.edu.pa as soon as possible so we can make adjustments as needed.

On Tuesday of next week, students will begin their 3rd quarter WIN block classes.

As you know WIN block stands for "What I Need", and is a time built into our schedule for students to receive targeted instruction, support, or extension in: Math, Reading, office hours with specific teachers, Social Emotional Learning with our counselor, quiet study time, or small group exploratories.

Students have been placed into WIN groups based on a collection of data and teacher feedback regarding their performance in Math and Reading while also considering their social emotional needs. At ISP we use the Acadience Reading K-8 and Delta Math screeners in addition to the most recent MAP testing data. Students are screened throughout the year.

We are very excited to offer these opportunities for students and are looking forward to seeing how they grow as learners.  These groups will run through the end of the third quarter and will change quarterly based on need as the year goes on. If your child was identified as needing math, reading or social emotional support during WIN, you will receive an email by the end of this week (Friday 27th).

World Read Aloud Day

On Wednesday of next week we welcome Julie Lee, author of Brother's Keeper, our whole school novel for World Read Aloud Day. Julie will be speaking with students about her book, what inspires and motivates her as a writer, and how students can share their stories though writing.
