International Baccalaurate
Part of what makes the last years of learning at ISP unique is our student-centered approach to the IB. Following nearly 30 years of experience as an IB World School, we are confident in saying that a key to students reaching their full potential is choice. That's why we offer a full range of courses in the IB, more than most international schools with similar academic and IB programs.
In addition to offering IB courses in both English and Spanish at multiple levels, and 3 of the 4 IB Math courses, ISP is one of the few schools to offer three IB Arts courses; IB Visual Arts, IB Theater and IB Music. A full menu of choices is also offered in the Social Sciences giving students the choice among, Global Politics, Psychology, Business Management, Economics, and History. The Natural Sciences let students choose from Environmental Systems and Societies, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme "aims to develop students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge - students who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally, and ethically."
The IB course of study is the signature and culminating piece of ISP’s educational program. More than half of our high school students pursue the IB Diploma - a demanding course of study including six subjects studied for two full years: the Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and CAS - Creativity, Action, and Service. It takes a great deal of hard work to earn the IB diploma, and it is a tremendous achievement when completed.
