"Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. They open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore and achieve, and contribute to improving our quality of life." - Sidney Sheldon
Welcome to the ISP Library Media Centers!
Our mission is to:
-
Educate and inspire our students to reach their full potential and contribute to the world;
-
Provide a collection of materials to implement, enrich, and support the curriculum; and
-
Meet the individual educational, emotional and recreational needs of students, faculty, and community members.
Our Approach to Learning
ISP Librarians collaborate with teachers, student services, and learning coaches to integrate critical literacy skills into the curriculum, including reading, digital intelligence, research, and information fluency.
Developing a love of literature and innate curiosity is also at the center of our libraries. The ISP community can find a rich collection of books, ebooks, and audiobooks, in our physical and virtual library media centers. Our librarians strive to offer an assortment of content that reflects ISP’s diverse community and also offers a window into the greater world beyond our walls.
Our librarians are also certified teachers who practice their own continuous learning through active participation with library associations including American Association of School Libraries, Future Ready Librarians, International Society of Technology in Education, and the Association of American Schools in South America.
Collection and Resources
The library media center collection at ISP is one of the largest in Panama, offering thousands of books (physical, electronic, and audio), periodicals, and audiovisual materials, including DVDs, and MacBooks. To support the needs of our young researchers, the library media center also offers access to leading academic research databases.
Our Library Media Centers
ISP houses two library media centers to meet the needs of our community. Parents and staff are also welcome to visit, create an account, and enjoy our many resources. Click the links to visit the library pages and learn more about unique programming, librarians and more:
Online Learning & Distance Lending
The ISP Library Media Center’s mission has not been changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and online learning. The Distance Lending program supports our mission to serve our community while providing a more comprehensive set of available physical and virtual resources. The ISP community can request physical books and DVDs through an online form available every two weeks, with resources made safely available for on campus pick-up the following week
